What I’m Thankful For – Craft

In the spirit of giving thanks, my daughter and I are making a book – a “What I’m Thankful For” book.
She went through tons of pictures, and took some of her own. She is also looking around for anything else that she would like to include. Once everything is gathered up, we will put it all together! We made one last year and it was a ton of fun.
To make your own book you will need:
10 (or more!) pieces of construction paper, in various colors.
Yarn
Hole Punch
Glue Stick
Tape
Markers, Crayons and/or Colored Pencils
Stickers, glitter, buttons, ribbon and any other decorative items
Pictures and small items that represent things your child is thankful for
Gather all of your child’s selected items and have them glue or tape them to the construction paper. You can arrange them to tell a story, (and you can make up a story to go along with it!) or you can just place them however to create a picture book. Let your child decorate each page as they would like. Make one page the cover, and give it a special picture, a title (“What I am Thankful For”) and and author. (Make sure you write 2010 on there someplace, as you will both love to look at this book in the years to come.) Put all the papers in a stack in the order you are going to keep them. Punch two holes in the left side – this will be to attach all the pages to make your book. Secure the pages with the yarn.
Enjoy your book! :)
This is a super fun project, and if you chose to go the picture book route, it is so much fun to hear the different stories that you child will come up with when “reading” the book!
Have fun!
