I am a self proclaimed “tooth fanatic” – and I have been for a very long time. My Uncle is a dentist, my mom managed his multiple offices for years when I was younger, and I worked in two dental offices for 5 years before V was born. I was very excited when V started teething – all those baby teeth! I could hardly contain myself. I about drove her crazy checking them, brushing them, counting them, looking at them…. did I mention that I’m a tooth fanatic??
I was so excited to find out about The Twooth Timer. V is an okay brusher, and E is a toothbrush chewer, but I just didn’t think that they were brushing long enough. I have since learned that dentist recommend that you brush your teeth for two minutes – V was barely doing 20 seconds!
To get excited about new, extending brushing, we went out and got new toothbrushes! The kids each picked one out, and were slightly bummed that they had to wait until the timer arrived. Thankfully, shipping was super quick and we didn’t have to wait long!
V was so excited when I opened the packaged – she yelled that it looks like a tooth! I have to admit – I was pretty excited about it too! It is such a fun design that it really makes you want to use it. So that is what we did!
We all ran to the bathroom and got ready to brush. New toothbrushes were out. Toothpaste on. I wound up the timer and away we went!
Those were the longest two minutes – EVER!
I thought that I was pretty close to brushing for two minutes, and I am slightly embarrassed to say that I was waaaay off as well. I was maybe doing 30-40 seconds each time – a far cry from 2 minutes. I will say this – my teeth felt so clean after brushing for two minutes. It was great.
V was super proud that she brushed for two minutes. She really like that the timer did a big “ding” at the end, and asked if we could brush again. I laughed – what a change from her brushing a quickly as she could to get out of the bathroom!
We all use The Twooth Timer now – every time we brush. I feel like I am cheating if I don’t! The kids are excited to listen to it ding and tick down the seconds. E still refuses to give his toothbrush back at the end of the two minutes, but he stands there with his sister and brushes the whole time.
I am so happy that we have found such a fantastic product! Especially one that will help us all keep our teeth healthy! I can’t wait to hear what the dentist says at our next check up!
The Twooth Timer was created by a mom searching for a way to get her kids to brush for two minutes. After a routine dental appointment, the dentist suggested purchasing a timer to help her kids brush for the right amount of time. While searching and searching the internet and local stores, she was unable to find an effective tooth brushing timer. So she decided to create one!

I want this product, this looks amazing! I bet my son only brushes 30 seconds!
I bet my kids brush for 30 seconds, at the most!
We brush about 45-60 seconds….I have a turn and they have a turn, otherwise it would be a lot shorter!!
Sad to say I would guess anywhere from 30-45 seconds.

They brush 3 minutes. I have to admit that they were not brushing that long until I bought a toothbrush which sings or does the alphabet. Now they are so thrilled with their toothbrush, they never notice how long they are brushing.

Our 5 year-old used to brush until we made him stop – 5 minutes, 10 minutes, however long he could. Then he got bored with it and we have to help again to make sure he does a decent job. Otherwise he will just scrub his front teeth and call it quits.
