I never realized how hard packing school lunches could be before my daughter started school this year. Making lunch wasn’t something that I thought out or planned before hand; I would just kind of wander into the kitchen around noon and see what we had. Sometimes it would be a super elaborate and creative lunch, and sometimes it was just a really good sandwich. Either way, it was good, easy and quick.
Making lunch got a LOT harder this year.
Now I had to figure out what I was going to give her the night before instead of a few minutes before. Plus I had to figure out the best way to pack everything so that it wouldn’t get squished before her lunch time (which happens to be super late – 12:35!). There were many days, at the beginning of the year, when her sandwich would come home uneaten and looking like it had been sat on.
Even worse, I was spending a fortune on plastic baggies. I was using at least 1 for her morning snack and 4 for her lunch. It was a lot of waste – of both money and baggies!
I went searching for a better way to pack my daughters lunch and I thankfully found Easy Lunchboxes.
Easy Lunchboxes offers the best lunch packing system that I have found. I feel so much better packing my daughters lunch with these waste-free lunch boxes, knowing that my daughter is enjoying a healthy lunch without throwing away tons of garbage every day. Plus, I love that it is plastic – no more smushed lunches!
More about the box:
Easy Lunch Boxes come in a package of four. Each container has a different colored lid and features three compartments. There is a large compartment perfect for a sandwich, a quesadilla, salad, or anything else that you can think to put in there. There are two smaller compartments for fruit, dessert, yogurt (all you need is a bit of Glad press and seal wrap), chips… the possibilities are truly endless!
I find that it is much easier for me to pack her lunch now that I have this one container. I can easier visualize what I am going to put together, plus it prevents me from packing overly large portions of snacks… which I often did.
The lids are super easy to open even for little kids. I was a bit worried that my daughter wouldn’t be able to get it open, but she has not had any problems. I also worried about leaks. In the two months that we have been using these, there has not been one leak! I think this is truly amazing considering the fact that I have seen my daughter swing, sit on and toss her book bag.
Each of the Easy Lunch Boxes containers fits perfectly into the Lunch Bag Coolers. My daughter loves purple, so of course we were thrilled to see that one of the seven color options was purple! The lunch box fits easily inside with plenty of room for her morning snack, two drinks, silverware, ice packs and a napkin.

V has been super happy with her lunches lately … even requesting a “surprise” lunch regularly. (She must be impressed with my blossoming lunch creativity!) I am so happy with these and my only regret is that I didn’t find them sooner!
