Our fabulous new tradition!

I have very few holiday traditions that are actually my own making. Most of the traditions that I do with my kids were created by my mom for me …a holiday basket instead of a stocking, baking cookies while listening to Christmas music, and opening one present before Christmas – because I could just never wait! I am really excited to be starting a brand new tradition with my kids this year with the help of Elf Magic.

Christmas is such a magical time for kids, and I love to see the excitement in their faces as the time for Santa to come draws nearer. This year, my kids are able to experience a bit more of that magic for the entire month leading up to Christmas thanks to a couple of magical house guests we are currently entertaining!

Just a few nights ago, V sat down and wrote a letter to Santa. It wasn’t a letter telling him what she would like for Christmas, it was a letter to ask him if he would send an elf to stay with her and her brother until Christmas. You see,  Santa will send an Elf to come and stay with a family and help them have a season full of fun, friendship, and wonderful memories. The elves are super busy, so you have to ask Santa to reserve a special elf for you, and once they are done with their work at the North Pole, Santa will send them to your house…. Typically the day after Thanksgiving!

While waiting for our elf to arrive, we left out water and crackers – their favorite snack! Each night before bed, your elf gets sprinkled with Magic North Pole Snowflakes allowing them to come alive and have wonderful Elfcapades all night long. Before the night is up, the Elf will hide and your child will have so much fun searching for them each morning and figuring out what they were up to all night long.

While we wrote our letter at the beginning of the week, V’s Elf did not arrive until Thursday morning. She woke up to find two Elf trunks, an Elf Magic book and CD, as well as a note telling her that Santa had gotten her letter, and had sent her a very special Elf named Wendi. Well, Wendi had a surprise of her own and asked Santa if she could bring her brother to come and be E’s Elf! And guess what – Santa said yes and sent Quinn to E!

V was so excited and raced around the house trying to find where the elves were hiding. She found them relaxing in her Barbie house on a comfy bed, watching a little TV. She could hardly believe that her Elf was finally here!

V has not let go of her Elf for more then was absolutely necessary since Wendi arrived. She just adores her. She has spent a lot of time changing her outfit (Wendi has her Elf clothes, her nightgown, and an ice skating outfit), organizing her travel trunk and introducing her to all her other dolls and stuffed animals. Both kids were so excited to sprinkle their elves with the Magic North Pole Snowflakes last night, and V made me swear that I would go right to sleep so that Wendi could “come alive and have fun”.

V woke up extra early this morning… she could hardly wait to see what Wendi and Quinn did last night! She laughed so hard when she saw that they had thrown a little party on the kitchen table – complete with lots of snowflake shaped crackers and chocolate milk!

We have only had our elves here a couple of days, and already the whole family is excited and feeling very festive. V keeps asking what her Elf is going to do tonight, and E has ran and got the Magic Snowflakes multiple times today! This is one holiday tradition that the entire family is really enjoying and it has only just begun!!

Santa still has tons of Elves that are looking for great homes this holiday season, and there is still lots of time left to start a new tradition! You can find out more about writing your letter, reserving your elf and their magical arrival at your home.

I will be posting at least once a week with pictures of our elves nightly Elfcapades and daily adventures. Does your family have an Elf Magic tradition? I’d love to hear about your Elf and their magical Elfcapades!

You can find out what the elves are up to while at the North Pole, hear about some crazy Elfcapades and Elf sightings on the Elf Magic facebook page and on Twitter @elfmagic
