I have a love/hate relationship with cable.
There… I admitted it.
Yes, I love having all of those channels at my fingertips, but I don’t like forking over so much money every month. It is a huge internal battle over whether or not to keep the service or go to “regular TV”. It is a topic that Jay and I frequently discuss … and there are days when I think we should cancel our service, and days that I just love having it.
My kids are pro cable TV. (Big surprise, right?!)
They love that mom can put on any show they want to watch at any time.
Between On Demand and the ability to digitally record shows, we can pretty much watch whatever we want, whenever we want.
I have to say… I really love these features too. The ability to record my favorite shows when I won’t be home is something that I would really miss if I didn’t have it. Plus, my kids want to watch kid shows, and only kid shows. It is much easier to just record my show to watch after the kids go bed then to try to watch it when they are awake.
On Demand has saved many melt downs in my house. My kids don’t watch a lot of TV, but there are a few shows that they really, really love. SpongeBob is my son’s number 1 favorite, and he wants to watch it any time it is his turn to pick the show. Unfortunately, it isn’t always on regular TV. As soon as E hears that, the tears start coming. Thankfully, SpongeBob is always available through On Demand … making for a very happy boy and very relieved mom!
