My kids are blanket fanatics! I mean, crazed blanket lovers to the highest extreme. Not a day goes by that a camping expedition, full room picnic, or massive clubhouse isn’t set up in our house with every blanket available. With all that being said, I was very excited when Mary asked me if I would like to review one her handmade blankets that would be featured in her new store, Marysa Jane.
I love handmade items, and after checking out the adorable designs that she had to offer, I knew that my kids would be very excited. I went with the Little Lilly Pad Frogs blanket, thinking that it would be pretty gender neutral and both my kids would be able to enjoy it.
When the blanket arrived, it was even cuter in person then in the picture. The frogs are adorable, and the material is so, so soft. Each blanket is made of 100% flannel cotton, and is reversible. The side opposite the frogs has polka dots – one of my favorite patterns!
While both kids were excited to play with this blanket – it was immediately added to the “ocean” floor that was occurring in my living room – E was smitten with it. He has never really attached himself to any one item, but this blanket seems to find its way to his side where ever he is playing.
Both kids will be playing in the living room, having a great time, and E will wonder off only to be found with the frog blanket and a pillow snuggled up somewhere. He has even started requesting it in his crib at bedtime!
The blanket is the perfect size for a toddler or a preschooler. E loves that it is small enough that he can handle it and snuggle up in it, without getting all twisted and tangled up like with larger blankets. I like that while he can easily manage the blanket on his own, it is large enough that it still covers him with room to spare. V likes it because it is just the right size to cover her when she is laying on her couch. She also likes to turn it into a cape – it is just long and wide enough to “wear” that it looks like a long, flowing cape without being too big and becoming a tripping hazard!
This blanket has quickly become a family favorite among the kids! It is extremely well made, super soft and washes beautifully (yup, we had to wash it twice already – once because of a Popsicle and once because it was covered in juice!) without shrinking or pilling.
