Right before Christmas, we were really struggling with V and her feelings. She was overwhelmed by them, and the result was a daily tantrum that was causing stress for the entire family. I knew that something had to change, and we all had to learn better methods of dealing with the strong slew of emotions that were flying around our home.
Thankfully, we found Kimochis.
The change in V was amazing. She loves her Kimochis doll, and it has been a fantastic tool in helping her identify and handle her emotions without a major meltdown.
When I heard that Kimochis had created a new character specifically for kids in military families, I knew that it was a project I wanted to support and share.
Kimochis® and The Gottman Institute created the Kimochis® Activity Kit for Military Families to give Military Families a playful tool to build positive communication skills that create strong family bonds, increased resiliency, and raise the odds of successful reintegration.
The Kimochis® Activity Kit for Military Families includes a new Kimochis® character—a dog named Hero; a 32-page hardcover picture book Hero’s Big Adventure; two sets of Kimochis® feelings; a Kimochis® nesting heart; and an Activity Book filled with engaging ways to connect and communicate. The Kimochis® Activity Kit for Military Families is currently in production and The Gottman Institute is taking pre-orders now. The kit will be available for worldwide distribution in September 2012.
A percentage of all proceeds will go to support Tamar Geller’s organization Operation Heroes and Hounds. In addition to supporting the heroes that Tamar works with, anyone can purchase the Kimochis® Activity Kit for Military Families as a donation to the National Military Family Association’s Operation Purple Program which serves 45,000 military children, teens and their families.
Kimochis have helped both of my kids understand and handle their feelings more effectively. We were very excited to add Lovey Dove to our collection, and it is amazing to me to see my 2 year old working out his feelings with her.
These toys are truly a must have for all kids – no matter what their situation is. Learning to recognize and deal with your emotions is tough work, Kimochis really help in a fun and comforting way.

This would be a great gift for both of my young children. My son especially has struggled a lot with his emotions and the Kimochis are really a great outlet to help children deal with their feelings in a fun, creative, and easy way. It’s important for kids to know that sharing their feelings is OK. Thanks for such a great giveaway! Good luck everyone!
