Frozen Coffee Bliss

I drink a lot of coffee. And by a lot, I mean like 5+ cups a day. While I always enjoy a nice cup ‘o joe, sometimes I like to get a little creative with my beverage of choice. I will admit – I don’t like a lot of fuss and “extras” when it comes to my coffee. I like the flavor to come through and and it has to be have just the right amount of sweetness and cream.

Once the warm weather hits, I find that my focus is all about frozen and iced drinks.

Jay and I got a new blender just in time for summer (I absolutely killed the last one with my constant blending of icy drinks!) and I have been in frozen drink heaven. I have been making us smoothies, milkshakes, and frozen coffee (my favorite!) for our nightly dessert every single night since it arrived last week!

Frozen coffee is my favorite for so many reasons, but mainly because it combines two of my favorite things: Coffee and dessert. It is a delicious and cool treat that really hits the spot.

Yet, I do have a complaint when it comes to making frozen coffee –  I can never seem to get the coffee strong enough and the consistency (and mouth feel) creamy enough without making the drink too thin and watery… This is largely caused by the necessary addition of cream or milk. It has really been frustrating me!

But… Guess what? I have finally found the perfect solution!

I can now say that I am making the perfect frozen coffee!

Here it is; Enjoy!!

Fabulous Frozen Coffee

(makes 1 large and delicious cup!)

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 ice cubes
  • 8 oz strong coffee
  • 1 – 1.5 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
  • 2 T + 1 tsp chocolate syrup

Directions:

  • Add ice to blender. You can either pre-blend to break it up finer, or blend it with the other ingredients … it’s up to you!
  • Add coffee, 2 T chocolate syrup and 1/2 to 1 cup of COOL WHIP depending on how sweet you want it.
  • Blend!!
  • Pour into cup and top with 1 tsp chocolate syrup.
  • Enjoy :)

Easy peasy, super quick and oh so good! The COOL WHIP is sweet and creamy, and keeps the drink from becoming too runny.

This is the perfect coffee drink for anytime, but it makes a fabulous and special dessert!

    I love coffee, I wake up in AM and start drinking it cold and black, then I move to hot coffee with vanilla cream, my favorite, from there as the day progresses now with iced coffee with vanilla cream, so I do enjoy my coffee.
