E would never drink from a bottle. I mean never – He is 16 months old and has probably drank less than 6 bottles. We knew that we had to find a good sippy cup for him, and were very discouraged when he wouldn’t drink out of those either. He wanted a cup … one just like his sisters. Yea, right. He is way too little for a regular cup. BUT he is just the right age for the EIO Kids Cup!
The EIO Kids Cup is the answer to dealing with mounds of plastic sippy cups, tops and valves. It is eco-friendly, and it teaches your child the proper way to drink. Traditional sippy cups with valves can cause numerous problems if they are used for too long – including damage to the child’s teeth and speech. Not to mention, all the parts and pieces are incredibly bothersome to keep track of.
What makes the EIO Kids Cup different? Well, it is an 8 oz glass jar. Yup – a glass jar. I know, I was a little skeptical at first too. I wasn’t sure how I felt about my 16 month old drinking out of a glass jar … I imagined him throwing it and it shattering everywhere. But it’s not just a glass jar…
There is a special sleeve that is easy to wash and made out of silicone. This sleeve enables the cup to be securely held onto, and it also helps to prevent it from breaking. Once you put it on the cup, it can stay there! You don’t have to take it off to wash it, and it is dishwasher safe!
The cap is also very unique in that it is spill-resistant, BPA free and promotes correct sipping habits in toddlers. The design of the cap is very neat, and really helps your child learn how to drink from a regular cup.
The EIO Kids Cup has been wonderful for E at mealtimes. He feels like a big boy with his special cup that he can drink out of just like his sister. I love that the glass doesn’t stain or get those funky smells like plastic ones can. For all of my worry about him throwing it, he never has. Not once. He seems to know that it just like his sisters cup and that you can’t throw it because he places it very carefully on his tray.
E is very eager to drink from this cup, and is always very proud when he manages his sip without spilling any. It took him a few days to get used to the fact that the drink would come out without sucking – causing a few spills – but now he knows what he is doing, and is getting better with each use!
