I love to read. I have a huge collection of books that end up packed into boxes, piled in my closet, and spread out around the house where ever I can find room for them. And the kids… they have a huge collection of books too that are kept in “book bins” in their rooms and playroom.
While I love to read, and I do love the feel of a paper book, they just take up so much space!!
I have been thinking about getting a digital reader for awhile now. There are some really great titles available for them, and it is so easy to get the book you want, when you want it. You just go online and download it. No driving to the store, looking around, waiting in line, driving home and hopefully still having time to read it.
But … there are so many choices for what eReader is best.
I would say that the biggest choice really comes down to the NOOK color or the Kindle. Now, my mom has a Kindle, and she seems pretty happy with it. And I recently had the chance to check out the NOOK color, and I am really loving it… And so are my kids!!
Party Day by Laurie Berkner
I was sent the NOOK color on loan to check out Party Day by Laurie Berkner. This colorful, cute and very entertaining story quickly won over my kids.
Party Day is fun and intereactive eBook about 4 insect friends that go to the beach. They have a party filled day playing in the sand, telling stories, and making music. Each page has something fun, unique and sure to get your kids giggling. There are interactive characters that talk to you, special games to play and activities.
I love that the full Party Day song is at the end of the story – complete with the lyrics!
My kids have read and re-read this book over and over. They just love it.
Now my decision is much harder! I am torn between the two eReaders, but if I take my kids love of this eBook into account, we may end up with a NOOK of our own!!
Do you have an eReader? What kind do you have and what do you love about it??
