Best. Shirt. EVER…

It’s a shirt … It’s a dress …. It’s a skirt…. It’s a Sakura Convertible Mini Dress from Henkaa!!

And I am in love with it.

Really and truly in love.

*sigh*

I have worn convertible dresses before, and I have found some of them to be hard to style and {occasionally} unflattering. Not this one. Henkaa convertible dresses are different.

They are soft and silky, but not clingy – which I love.

They are very flattering and super comfortable. And this mini dress… it does a great job of hiding my tummy. The fabric skims right over my stomach and hips, and looks very flowing.

There are tons of different ways that you can style the mini dress, and the best part about it – the styles are super easy to do. It takes about one minute to wrap and tie the tails into whatever style you like. Really. It’s that fast. If it wasn’t, I would never be able to wear it. I have about 10 minutes to shower and dress before anyone barges in on me, and I don’t have the time to fuss with things for too long. {I am sure all you mamas can relate!}

I have worn a number of styles now, and my favorite way to my wear my mini dress is as a fancy tank top … which I do with a variation on the Charlotte cap sleeve style. Everything is tied the same, but I twist the shoulders straps instead of opening them on my shoulders. Now I am the first to admit that I have not real “styling talent”. I was a bit intimidated by the idea of styling my dress/shirt. But I was worrying for nothing. There are so many great video tutorials on the Henkaa website that it was really easy to watch and copy what was done.

The first time I wore it, E gave me a huge smile, gasped and told me that I looked beautiful in my fancy dress. :) I tell ya, that boy just melts my heart.

I was also worried about how well it would stay in place and stay tied throughout the day. Once I had it on, I found that I didn’t need to do any adjusting. Even after shopping and playing outside with the kids.

V was super excited when I told her that she could actually wear it too! Yup, that’s right. Not only can the mini dress be worn as a shirt, skirt and dress for my, it can also be a kids dress!!

I tried it out a few different ways on her, and every single style looked good on her on. And she loved them all. She kept telling me that she felt “like a princess” and she was twirling around like crazy.

This is one piece of clothing that is going to get a ton of use!! I already have a list of other items I want from Henkaa… including the long dress, the bandue, and some of the beautiful jewelry. I have also been looking for bridesmaids dresses, and these are definitely being considered {I’ve already requested some fabric swatches to check colors}!

Do you have a go-to dress? Have you ever tried to wear a convertible dress? What did you think of it??

    I have a couple of go to skirts, I need to replace my go to dress (I wore it out).
    I love that both your and V were able to use the mini dress. I could see wearing it as a shirt or the longer version..

    The dress looks lovely on both you and V! Even for us it’s almost hard to believe that it’s the same piece. Glad you girls could both have fun with it :)
