My daughter has a collection of baby dolls that could rival the amount available in the local toy store. She just loves them, and plays “house” at least once a day. She does come by it honestly — I was always a baby doll fanatic as a child.
Actually, both of my kids really like to play with dolls, and I always encourage them to. It is a great way to teach children empathy, compassion and to encourage them to be nurturing. Plus, I just love to listen to them playing with dolls – talking to them, taking care of them, changing diapers, feeding them, changing them, etc. It is so cute to hear the imaginative things they come up with.
I have long admired the beautiful dolls created by JC Toys. They are incredibly life like, and I have wanted to add one to her collection for quite a while. When the opportunity arose to review one, I seriously considered getting the doll for myself… but when I saw the La Newborn 14″ Real Girl, I knew that V would be over the moon about her.
While the dolls look amazing on the website, it is nothing compared to how they look in person!
V could hardly wait for the baby to arrive, and when it did, everything else came to a halt. We had to get the doll out of the package ASAP and honestly, I don’t think she stopped bouncing up and down the entire time I was getting it out.
I did have to take a minute to wrestle the doll away from her — I just couldn’t believe how much it looks like a real baby! From the beautiful facial expression, to the slightly wrinkled fingers and toes, it reminds me of a newborn baby in every way.
V takes this baby doll everywhere.
I don’t think she has set her down or left her alone since she arrived. She has her own special seat in the car, and sleeps in a crib right next to her bed. While the baby did come with a super cute knit outfit, V was very excited to realize that many of the doll clothes we have will fit her as well.
The quality of the La Newborn baby doll is amazing. I have never seen a doll that looks so real!
