In less then one week, V goes back to school as a first grader! I honestly can’t tell you where the summer went, nor how my daughter is in first grade this year. It is unreal.
While V is excited to get back to school and see all of her friends, I know that once the time comes, she will be hit with a bit of separation anxiety. We had a really hard time with it last year, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that because she knows what to expect this year, it will be a bit easier.
One thing that really helped last year was that I would tuck little notes into V’s lunch box.
She loved them!
She told me that when I send her special notes, she feels extra special and loved. Which is my goal each time I send one.
I was super excited to check out some of the back to school products from Hallmark.
Especially their Lunch Notes for kids. These take my scrap-paper notes and really kick them up to the next level.
Lunch Notes are “50 ways to add a little love to lunchtime”. Each one is one a cute piece of paper and there is a unique saying, a little drawing, and a space for you to write in your little note. I just love them and cannot wait to put them in V’s lunch again this year.
I also got a great collection of cards for kids. Each one is inspirational, and very kid appropriate. Cute pictures, easy to read, and perfect for back to school. I already have the perfect one picked out to send when V is having a rough morning:
And for her first day of school:
But my favorite item in the back to school pack I received is the BUG ‘em. Not only is the BUG ‘em going to be loved like crazy by V, but there is a front clip that is perfect for holding a note, card, picture, or even gift card, and a larger, zipper compartment that can be used to tuck a special treat into. This is going to be a great way to brighten her day
While I am going to miss V while she is away all day at school, I am happy to have some great goodies up my sleeve to insure that her day is filled with smiles and secret notes from home.
