Jay and I share a love of cooking. We like to cook together… on occasion, but tend to kick each other out of the kitchen so as to not giveaway any “trade secrets” that we each have. Actually, I am just a super freak about how things should be cooked and it drives Jay crazy, so he opts to leave me to it for fear of being yelled at (or corrected).
We have recently been introduced to a new cooking style that we can both agree on: the AquaChef Professional Water Oven.
I was a little skeptical about the AquaChef at first and didn’t see how food cooked in a water bath would taste very good. All that I could picture was the equivalent of boiling steak (like the boiled hot dogs my aunt used to make) and that couldn’t have been farther from how you actually cook with the AquaChef.
How would you like to make delicious, healthy and mouthwatering meals perfectly cooked every time hot and ready when you are? Now you can! Introducing the AquaChef − the revolutionary kitchen appliance that’s the easy and foolproof way to cook at home! With the AquaChef, you can now prepare nutritious, gourmet meals in no time at all without all the fats and oils. You can even cook from frozen without defrosting. And all with virtually no cleanup! The AquaChef is so versatile, you can make pretty much anything in it from eggs to steak − even cheesecake! With the AquaChef you can enjoy healthy, delicious, home-cooked meals every time!
I have never cooked, or eaten, any food made this way before, and I was very impressed with the outcome. I have been eating grass-fed beef, and while it has great flavor, it has very little fat making it very hard to cook perfectly, and prone to come out a little tough. I decided to give it a try in the AquaChef, and found the entire process to be easy … and most importantly, it cooked my steak perfectly!
The AquaChef comes with reusable vacuum bags that you place and cook your food. I decided to put my steak in a bag with lots of fresh rosemary and some fresh garlic. It was easy and quick to seal the bag, and in what seemed like no time (with very little effort on my part) my steak was done.
I got to relax for once while cooking dinner because the AquaChef does all the work. You just preheat the water, throw your ingredients in the bag, suck out the air, and pop it in the water. It’s quiet, doesn’t take up much more counter space then a toaster oven, and lets any level cook create moist, perfectly cooked food. There is also a great recipe book that comes with the AquaChef unit – it has some really good looking recipes and also contains cooking times for most meats you will want to make in there.
I was really impressed that you can also make desserts in the AquaChef! I haven’t had a chance to make one yet, but it is on the agenda once we get settled in the new house.
I am excited to keep experimenting with the AquaChef, and I am hopeful that it will continue to make my cooking life easier!

I’ve never used this and would love to try it on our grass fed beef steaks or fish.
I have never done this type of cooking and had not heard of it until reading about it hear now. I would likely try just about everything in it. Chicken or beef would probably be what I would try first, not to mention desserts. Sounds like a fun experiment.

I have never used on, but have seen them on Iron Chef and have been wanting one. I would cook a variety of things, but would start with chicken breast. Mine always turn out dry and I am hoping this cooking method would make it moist.
I’d like to try steak or ribs
