I love cheese fondue. Like, really love it.
I was born a few decades too late because those fondue parties in the 70s??? I would’ve been have one weekly! To supplement my love of cheese fondue, Jay and I occasionally go to The Melting Pot, and I have been trying to duplicate their cheddar cheese fondue at home. I have been mildly successful, and decided to make it for dinner for the kids last week.
I was a little unsure about V — she tends to be a touch picky and I was really worried that she would not even try it. I had some Pizza Bagels ready and waiting in case I needed them.
I was worried for nothing because both kids LOVED it!!
They had so much fun dipping their food and using their fingers to eat. We had two kinds of bread, carrots, green apples and broccoli. It was super yummy
I told V all about the real recipe that I was trying to copy and she asked me if we could go and try it at The Melting Pot one day. I said yes, not knowing if we would actually go anytime soon or not.
Well, we ended up going sooner rather than later.
We went tonight! And the three of us had a blast!!
V was so excited to try the “real deal” cheese fondue, and E was just excited to use the super long fondue fork
E made a huge mess – he didn’t understand that he had to let it drip off a little bit before puling it away from the pot. V was eating everything, and I was so impressed that she was mostly focused on dipping the veggies.
Then we had chocolate.
Yes, I know … A little crazy to give two kids a huge bowl of chocolate, but they loved it. They both ate so much that they could hardly move after.
Once we got home, we had to play some Let’s Dance to burn off some of their “chocolate” energy.
All in all, a very fun night
How was your night? Do you like fondue?
