Getting prescriptions filled is not one of my favorite things to do. I cannot tell you how many times I have sat frustrated and waiting with a sick child, only to find out that the pharmacy we went to didn’t have the medicine we needed or took forever to fill the script. No one wants to wait when they are sick, and this is especially true when it comes to kids. You want them to be able to start their medicine as soon as possible.
Recently, I had to get a prescription filled for myself, and decided to try out the pharmacy at my local Target since I was shopping there anyways. I have never filled a script there before, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the way that it went. I don’t currently have insurance, and usually end up with a pretty hefty bill when I have to get anything filled.
I always make it a point to chat with the pharmacist when I drop of my script to see how much it will be and to see if I can use a discount card. I was very happy to find out that most generic medicine only costs about $4 per prescription and that they offer a rewards program that can save me money on my other Target shopping. It was a definite win/win for me!
Since then, we have decided to bring all our prescriptions to Target. Not only are they convenient, but the rewards program is a really great incentive. I spend tons of money every time I got into Target anyways (I just can’t seem to help myself!) so getting money off for something that I need to get anyways always makes me smile.
