Teaching my kids to want to eat healthy foods is something that is very important to me. I was very picky as a child, and it has taken me years to introduce new, healthier foods into my diet. I don’t want my kids to face the same food struggles that I have … and the best way that I can think to do that is to teach them healthy eating habits while they are little.

I quickly realized that I was having a harder time accomplishing this then I thought I would. I like most veggies, but Jay… not so much. It is very hard to tell a child to eat their vegetable when they see their parents passing them over.

The past couple of weeks, I have be implementing a new strategy and I am thrilled to say that it is working beautifully.

Copy – Kids eat fruits and vegetables is a must have DVD for all parents of toddlers.

All kids love to copy people – parents, siblings, random people that they see while out and about, and other kids. Especially other kids. I cannot tell you how many times V has come home with a new {slightly obnoxious} habit that she picked up from a school friend. And E is a classic example of this – he copies everything his big sister does.

Copy-Kids is a DVD that shows different kids eating all types of healthy foods. These kids are really chowing down and LOVING every, single bite. There are 12 segments within the video, one for each of the featured fruits and veggies which include raw broccoli, avocado, tomatoes, bell peppers, and more.

I was not prepared for the response that my kids would have to this DVD.

As suggested, I fixed each of my kids a plate with the foods that would be shown on the movie, sat them down and waited. They gobbled up a few of their favorites right away {all of the fruits, and some of the veggies} leaving mainly the avocado, raw broccoli, and bell peppers. I wasn’t to surprised by this… but what did surprise me was when they asked for more of what they had already eaten, and when they actually cleaned their plates!

And asked for more.

We have watched this movie a few times now, and each time the outcome was the same. Clean plates, full bellies, lots of healthy food ingested. I love it!

These good eating habits are carrying over to snack and meal time, and struggling with my kids to eat their veggies is quickly becoming a thing of the past.

I would love to see this series expand on to include more veggies, beans, and exotic fruits.
