I have always been hesitant to try some of the purchase-to-bid auction sites available online. I wasn’t too fond of the idea of purchasing bids, then trying to win a prize. I am not much of a gambler, so these type of sites have never really been my thing. As many people often do, I made a generalization about all these sites, and lumped them into a category of something that was of no interest to me. Well, let me tell you, I have changed my mind. Why? Well, I found a site that is for the greater good – one that donates the proceeds from each token used to different charities; I found PSGive.org.

PSGive.org is different than any auction site out there.

Yes, you still buy bids (tokens) and yes, you use those purchased tokens to try to win really cool prizes (Apple iPads, Webber Grill, PlayStation 3… just to name a few!). What makes them so different and so special is that each item is connected to a specific charity, and the proceeds from each token used to bid on that item is given to that specific charity!

With three types of events, you are going to have lots of fun. I really like the “Be Unique” events – it costs a specific amount of tokens (which varies depending on the item – but I have never seen it be more than two) and the object is to have the lowest unique bid! The last Be Unique Event that I was trying for was a $175 gift basket that was won for $0.30! All of the tokens used went to benefit a children’s charity, so it was really a win-win for everyone.

They also have “Raise the Price” events, which work similar to a typical auction, and “Reveal the Price” events, where for a certain number or tokens the price is revealed and you have a specific time frame in which the item can be purchased for that price.

PSGive.org currently has 7 charities that are benefited by different events. With more events, charities and items being added, this site is sure to big hit with everyone!

As an added bonus – PSGive.org will give you $3 in free tokens just for signing up! AND an extra $5 in tokens when you “like” them on facebook! Don’t wait – sign up and check out their facebook page for your extra code and get bidding!
